About the Role
As Head of Installations, you'll take ownership of all residential solar and battery installation activity across Western Australia — managing both internal and subcontracted teams to ensure every install is delivered safely, compliantly, and on schedule.
You'll oversee a growing team, refine processes, and play a key role in expanding in-house installation capability as the business scales.
This role suits a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and can balance technical expertise with strong people management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee residential solar and battery installations across WA.
- Lead and develop both in-house installation staff and subcontractor networks.
- Recruit, onboard, and manage installers to maintain high standards of quality and compliance.
- Liaise with utilities and manage grid connection approvals and documentation.
- Drive installation targets, performance metrics, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee back-office operations including scheduling, paperwork, and compliance submissions.
- Maintain responsibility for quality, safety, and compliance across all installation activities.
- 1 Operations Manager
- 5 Operations Support Agents (approvals, documentation, compliance)
- 1 Booking/Scheduling Manager
- 2-6 SAA-accredited in-house installers
- External subcontractor network
Essential
- 5-15 years' experience in residential solar or battery installation management.
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards (AS4777, AS5139, AS3000).
- Experience managing mixed teams (internal staff and subcontractors).
- Strong communication and leadership ability.
- Track record managing high-volume, fast-paced installation environments.
- Decision-making and problem-solving skills under pressure.
- WA Electrical Contractor's Licence and nominee status (or eligibility).
- SAA Accreditation (Grid-Connect Design & Install).
- Experience scaling operational teams and processes.
- Familiarity with distributed energy, battery, or VPP technology.
