About the Role Reporting to the HSE Manager, you'll provide practical health and safety support across site operations, working closely with project managers, supervisors and frontline teams. You will help maintain a strong safety culture, ensure compliance with legislative and client requirements, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day HSE advice and support to project managers, supervisors and site personnel.
- Promote a proactive safety culture and lead by example in the field.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, workplace observations and compliance reviews.
- Facilitate risk assessments, SWMS reviews, pre-start meetings and toolbox talks.
- Lead incident investigations and support the implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
- Monitor contractor compliance with HSE requirements.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of HSE management systems.
- Assist with reporting, safety performance metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide coaching and guidance to operational teams on safe work practices.
- Ensure compliance with relevant WHS legislation, client standards and project requirements.
- Demonstrated experience as an HSE Advisor within civil, construction, mining or infrastructure projects.
- Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety(Diploma or higher is advantageous).
- Previous experience working on FIFO projects or remote construction sites highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of Australian WHS legislation and risk management principles.
- Experience conducting incident investigations, audits and safety inspections.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with site teams and influence positive safety behaviours.
- Proactive, organised and able to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- FIFO position on a 10:4 roster.
- Base salary of $150,000 + Super.
- Additional FIFO uplift and site benefits, with total earnings expected to be approximately $220,000 package.
