About the Company
Our client is a long-established Sydney-based mechanical contractor delivering end-to-end HVAC solutions — from in-house design and engineering through to installation, commissioning, and ongoing service.
Currently, they’re delivering several D&C mixed-use developments with mechanical values up to $15 million, and have another large-scale project in the pipeline. As part of their continued growth, they’re now seeking an experienced HVAC Project Manager to join their team and take ownership of key D&C projects across Sydney.
The Role As the HVAC Project Manager, you’ll oversee the full lifecycle of D&C projects — from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover. You’ll manage budgets, programs, and site delivery while ensuring all design, engineering, and installation activities align with client expectations and company standards.
This is a hands-on leadership position suited to someone who can identify potential issues before they arise, drive proactive solutions, and manage multiple stakeholders on complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage HVAC D&C projects from design through to completion, ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to specification.
- Oversee coordination between design, engineering, procurement, and site teams.
- Lead subcontractor engagement, contracts, and on-site performance.
- Forecast and control project costs, budgets, and cash flow.
- Anticipate and resolve design or construction challenges before they escalate.
- Maintain strong client, consultant, and contractor relationships throughout project delivery.
- Ensure all work complies with WHS and quality assurance standards.
- 5–10+ years’ experience in mechanical/HVAC project management, ideally within the D&C contracting environment.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale mixed-use or commercial projects ($5m–$15m mechanical value).
- Strong understanding of HVAC design principles and coordination.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills — confident managing site and office teams.
- Commercially astute with strong cost control and forecasting abilities.
- Tertiary or trade qualifications in mechanical engineering or HVAC are highly regarded.
- Salary up to $180,000 + super, depending on experience.
- A strong pipeline of significant projects, including upcoming large-scale developments.
- Work with an experienced and supportive leadership team that values quality and collaboration.
- Stable, long-term opportunity within a well-established Sydney HVAC contractor
