About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Fitter
to carry out fault finding, equipment repairs, installations, commissioning, and decommissioning
of mechanical assets across water and wastewater treatment plants and associated systems.
This is a hands-on, field-based role offering variety, stability, and plenty of overtime
for those who enjoy working in a fast-paced, essential service environment.
Key Responsibilities
- As the Maintenance Fitter you will perform routine, preventive, and reactive maintenance on water and wastewater treatment and delivery infrastructure
- The Maintenance Fitter will undertake mechanical fault finding, repairs, and replacements of pumps, valves, gearboxes, conveyors, and rotating equipment
- This Maintenance Fitter will support installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of new and existing assets
- The Maintenance Fitter will work collaboratively with electrical, civil, and control system teams
- As the Maintenance Fitter you will ensure all activities are performed safely and in line with company and client standards
- The Maintenance Fitter will contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and HSE excellence
- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Turner
- Experience within water infrastructure, utilities, or industrial environments (highly regarded)
- Proven ability in fault diagnosis and repair of mechanical systems
- Strong commitment to safety and quality
- Current driver’s licence and White Card required
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- $48–$58 per hour, depending on experience
- Plenty of overtime available
