About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Manager
to lead our on-site maintenance operations at the Smithfield manufacturing facility. In this key leadership position, you will oversee a team of 10 maintenance professionals, including 2 direct reports, ensuring that all plant equipment and infrastructure operate safely, efficiently, and in line with production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- As Maintenance Manager you will lead and manage the maintenance team to ensure the effective execution of both preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
- The Maintenance Manager will develop and implement maintenance strategies that maximise equipment uptime and minimise production disruptions.
- As the Maintenance Manager you'll monitor and improve maintenance KPIs, including downtime, response times, and asset reliability.
- This Maintenance Manager will manage maintenance budgets and ensure cost-effective procurement of spare parts and services.
- The Maintenance Manager will ensure compliance with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Along with the team, this Maintenance Manager will support capital works projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- This Maintenance Manager will liaise with other departments including Production, Engineering, and HSE to ensure maintenance supports broader operational goals.
- Coach and develop team members to build technical capability and foster a strong safety culture.
- Proven experience in a similar Maintenance Manager role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Trade qualification or relevant engineering degree highly desirable.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and mentoring direct reports.
- Excellent understanding of preventative maintenance systems, lean practices, and asset management principles.
- Confident communicator with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Working knowledge of CMMS systems.
- Competitive salary of $150,000 + Superannuation.
