$130K-$140K + Vehicle + Super | Clear Career Progression | Stable Tier 2 Contractor
The Opportunity
Are you a Mechanical Project Manager looking to take the next step in your career with a contractor that genuinely invests in its people?
Our client is a well-established Tier 2 mechanical services contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality commercial projects across Victoria. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an ambitious Project Manager to join their specialist delivery team, overseeing projects valued up to $3 million.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a business that offers the support, structure, and mentoring typically associated with larger organisations, while maintaining the collaborative culture and stability of a privately owned company. With a clear focus on internal development, you'll be given the opportunity to progress into larger and more complex projects as your experience grows.
What's on Offer
- $130,000 - $140,000 + company vehicle + super
- Secure, long-term opportunity with a respected Tier 2 contractor
- Structured career progression into larger project teams
- Exposure to a diverse portfolio of commercial projects
- Supportive leadership and mentoring from experienced construction professionals
- Strong company culture with excellent staff retention
- Opportunity to build a long-term career within a growing business
The Role
Reporting directly to the Construction Manager, you will take ownership of the successful delivery of commercial mechanical services projects from commencement through to handover.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing mechanical projects valued up to $3 million
- Coordinating and leading direct labour and subcontractor teams
- Overseeing procurement activities and programme delivery
- Managing project budgets, forecasting, and cost control
- Maintaining strong relationships with builders, consultants, and clients
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
- Collaborating closely with estimating, engineering, and construction teams
- Identifying opportunities to improve project outcomes and efficiencies
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within a Tier 2 contractor, or a strong Tier 3 business delivering comparable projects
- Demonstrated experience managing Australian commercial mechanical services projects
- A solid background overseeing direct labour
- Experience delivering commercial fit-outs and/or new build projects
- Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive attitude with a genuine desire to develop into larger-scale project delivery
This role is ideal for a Project Manager who enjoys being hands-on, values stability, and wants a clearly defined pathway into larger and more technically complex projects. Rather than being a small cog in a large machine, you'll have genuine ownership of your projects while receiving the support and guidance needed to accelerate your career.
If you're looking for an opportunity where your contribution is recognised and your progression is planned, we'd love to hear from you.
