The Opportunity
We are currently working with a leading Tier 1 MEP contractor delivering major mechanical and electrical projects across Melbourne, including complex commercial, industrial and data centre developments.
Due to continued project growth, they are looking for an experienced BIM Modeler to join their project delivery team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on technically complex projects alongside experienced engineers, project managers and construction teams.
The Role
As a BIM Modeler, you will be responsible for developing, coordinating and maintaining high-quality BIM models throughout the project lifecycle.
You will work closely with engineering, design, project management and site teams to ensure models accurately reflect project requirements and are suitable for construction and installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed MEP BIM models using Revit and associated modelling software.
- Produce coordinated models and drawings for mechanical and/or electrical building services.
- Work closely with engineers, project managers, subcontractors and site teams to resolve design and coordination issues.
- Participate in BIM coordination and clash detection processes.
- Review design information and identify potential constructability issues.
- Assist with the preparation of shop drawings, fabrication information and construction documentation.
- Maintain model accuracy and ensure deliverables meet project BIM standards and requirements.
- Coordinate with architectural, structural and other services models.
- Support project teams throughout design, construction and commissioning phases.
- Contribute to BIM standards, processes and continuous improvement.
- Attend coordination meetings and communicate modelling/design issues effectively.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a BIM Modeler within an MEP, mechanical, electrical or building services environment.
- Strong proficiency in Revit.
- Experience with Navisworks and clash detection/coordination.
- Good understanding of mechanical and/or electrical building services.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Experience working within a contractor, subcontractor or construction environment.
- Strong attention to detail and an understanding of constructability.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced project environment.
