Position: Principal Power System Engineer
Salary: Up to $220k + super + bonus
Location: Remote (anywhere in Australia)
Design & Build Recruitment is working with a specialist engineering and advisory firm that offers full remote flexibility across Australia.
This is not a technical lead role; success in this position relies on strong network experience and the ability to lead and develop a small pod of power system engineers.

Key Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Oversee development of models and performance of studies using PSSE, PSCAD, PSS/Sincal and/or DIgSILENT
• Provide technical supervision, mentoring and support to a team of engineers
• Provide technical expertise to clients and external partners
• Manage grid connection studies and grid modelling activities
• Stay current with industry trends and NER technical requirements
Requirements:
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems or related discipline
• 10+ years of experience in the power, transmission, distribution or renewable energy sector
• Strong technical understanding of power systems and network operations
• Proven leadership and mentoring capability
• Experience across grid modelling and grid connection studies
