Location:    North Sydney
Duration:    6 months
Rate:          $500 - 600 per day (dependant on experience)

Opportunity for a Procurement Specialist to join a Tier 1 contractor and assist during the tender phase of a major construction project.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the procurement of materials, equipment, services and subcontracts in cross-functional collaboration environments within the construction sector.

As a Procurement Specialist, you will assist in procurement activities of high profile infrastructure projects ensuring time, cost, quality, safety, environmental targets, and client expectations are met

Key Responsibilities of the Procurement  Specialist include:

  • Scout supplier markets, manage end-to-end RFQ processes, and engage relevant suppliers during the pre-bidding, bidding, and post-bidding phases to maintain commercial competitiveness and offer validity
  • Issue RFQs to shortlisted suppliers and lead the RFQ process; evaluate proposals for major categories including material, equipment and plant, subcontractor works, and services and deliver the commercial outcome within a defined timeframe.
  • Enjoy working with a large amount of data, and information. Be able to apply your commercial acumen and analytical skills to draw insights from the data and provide commercial recommendations to your stakeholders
  • Manage all external and internal stakeholder communication to ensure the procurement process is undertaken in an effective and compliant manner
  • Manage supplier relationships and familiarise with the supply markets, especially understanding how to promote safety, environmental and sustainability aspects in procurement.
  • Capable to manage a large number of sourcing activities simultaneously
What can you bring as a Procurement Specialist
  • 5+ years of experience gained in Supply chain and Procurement Departments in multinational contexts; Engineering and construction industry background will be a ideal.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, supply chain or Engineering,
  • Negotiation techniques and strategies.
  • High confidence in analysing data, and making reports to support the decision-making process
  • Excellent use of MS Office; SAP MM, Business Intelligence Software.
