An established and financially strong commercial builder is looking to appoint Project Coordinators to join their growing project team across two major Melbourne developments.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Coordinator, Contracts Administrator or Site-based Project Coordinator who wants to take the next step in their construction career and work within a business that genuinely invests in its people.
With a strong pipeline of projects secured, the business is focused on building a long-term team, rather than simply recruiting people to fill individual project requirements.
The Opportunity
There are currently two Project Coordinator positions available, each offering exposure to different aspects of construction delivery.
Both roles are suited to someone who has a solid understanding of the construction process and wants to be involved in the project rather than sitting purely in an administration capacity.
You will work closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and client, gaining broad exposure across the delivery of major residential developments.
Project Coordinator – You will join a social housing development consisting of 3 levels and a basement, currently progressing through the finishes and services stages
The position is a hybrid Project Coordinator role, combining project coordination with site-based administration, safety and project systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating finishes and services packages
- Supporting site administration and project documentation
- Assisting with safety and compliance requirements
- Maintaining project systems and records
- Coordinating subcontractors and suppliers
- Assisting the Project Manager and Site Manager with day-to-day delivery
- Tracking project requirements, documentation and deadlines
- Supporting the wider project team through the delivery phase
- Getting involved with general construction coordination where required
Project Coordinator –
The second opportunity is based on a major residential development out east, with the PC playing an important role across:
- Services
- Finishes
- Facades
- Procurement
- Purchasing
- Supplier coordination
- Supply chain management
- Subcontractor coordination
- Project administration
You will therefore need to be commercially aware and confident coordinating between:
Site → Suppliers → Subcontractors → Procurement → Client → Project Team
This is not a traditional administration-focused PC position. The successful candidate will need to understand how construction actually works, be comfortable communicating with different stakeholders and have the confidence to follow issues through from identification to resolution.
What We're Looking For
The builder is open to candidates from a wide range of construction backgrounds.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a Project Coordinator, Contracts Administrator, Site Coordinator or similar
- Strong understanding of the construction process
- Experience within commercial building
- Apartment or multi-residential experience highly regarded
- D&C experience advantageous
- Strong understanding of subcontractor and supplier coordination
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organisational and administrative capability
- Commercial awareness
- Ability to work collaboratively within a project team
- A practical, solutions-focused approach
- Confidence communicating with site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients
- A willingness to get involved and understand the detail when required
The Company
This is a financially strong and well-backed construction business with a significant pipeline of future work.
The business has a strong focus on long-term employee retention and career development, with the intention of building a stable, high-performing team for the future.
They place a genuine emphasis on:
