Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate design, engineering, and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical and design input during the pre-construction phase.
- Manage the procurement of subcontractor and supplier packages, including tendering, negotiations, and contract administration.
- Review designs and documentation to identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
- Assist with project forecasting, programming, budgeting, and cost reporting.
- Prepare, review, and administer project documentation, procedures, and variations.
- Coordinate subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Maintain construction programs and monitor project progress.
- Manage site inspections, quality assurance, safety compliance, and statutory requirements.
- Oversee site registers, project records, and the compilation of Operations & Maintenance Manuals.
- Support Site Managers and Project Managers to ensure successful project delivery.
About You
- Degree qualified in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Ideally 3–5+ years' experience in a Project Engineer role with an Australian commercial head contractor.
- Experience delivering commercial and/or industrial construction projects.
- Strong understanding of the design and construction process from tender through to project completion.
- Knowledge of contracts, the National Construction Code, Australian Standards, and procurement processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in cost control, programming, and contract management.
- Proficiency with Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel is highly regarded.
- Knowledge of the WA subcontractor market will be advantageous.
