About the opportunity: We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the tender phase for a major high-voltage substation package. Reporting to the Tender Manager, you will bring deep substation construction expertise to help develop a technically sound and competitive submission. You'll work closely with estimating, design, and commercial teams to produce construction methodology, program, and risk deliverables that set the project up for success.
Key responsibilities of the Project Engineer
- Contribute to tender submissions including construction methodology statements, execution plans, and risk registers.
- Develop and review construction programs using Primavera P6, MS Project, Tilos, or equivalent scheduling tools.
- Support preparation of subcontractor interface plans, scope documents, and work packages.
- Provide technical input on substation construction sequencing, resource planning, and constructability reviews.
- Interface with design and commissioning teams to ensure tender accuracy and alignment.
- Assist with identification and management of high-risk construction activities including temporary works and safety-critical tasks.
- Liaise with overseas subcontractors and local engineers to define scope, interfaces, and construction logic.
- Review and contribute to quality and HSE management frameworks for inclusion in the tender submission.
- Full-cycle substation construction management experience from mobilisation through to commissioning.
- Hands-on experience with 132kV–500kV AIS substations, including power plant EBOP.
- Demonstrated ability to manage electrical works integrated with civil scope – earthworks, foundations, steel structures, and primary and secondary equipment installation.
- Experience managing multiple subcontractors simultaneously on large-scale infrastructure sites.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, Tilos, or similar scheduling tools with strong schedule control capability.
- Prior experience working with government clients and engineering firms.
- Technical coordination experience with design and commissioning teams, including overseas subcontractors.
- Proven track record in risk identification, quality management, and managing high-risk construction activities.
