We’re partnering with an established Melbourne commercial builder that is continuing to grow its project pipeline and is looking to bring an experienced Project Manager into the team.
With a strong pipeline of work across commercial construction, the business delivers projects across a range of sectors, including automotive dealerships, industrial, aged care and residential. They have several current projects underway, with further work secured and additional projects in the pipeline.

The Opportunity As Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of one or more construction projects, depending on your experience and capabilities.
The business has an established commercial team with strong Contract Administrators already in place. Your focus will be on project delivery, programme, quality, safety and coordinating the people involved in getting the job done.
You’ll work collaboratively with the commercial team, drawing on their expertise when required while allowing them to manage their own processes and responsibilities.
Projects will vary in size and sector, giving you the opportunity to work across different construction environments rather than being limited to one project type.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of commercial construction projects from commencement through to practical completion and handover.
- Develop, manage and monitor project programmes, ensuring key milestones and deadlines are achieved.
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and other project stakeholders.
- Oversee project quality, safety, construction methodology and overall site performance.
- Identify and manage project risks, resolving issues proactively to minimise delays and disruption.
- Work closely with Contract Administrators on procurement, project costs, variations and commercial matters, maintaining clear communication without duplicating responsibilities.
- Manage client relationships and ensure expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project progress and provide clear updates on programme, performance and potential issues.
- Ensure projects are delivered to the required standards, within programme and in line with contractual obligations.
- Lead a collaborative project team, creating a positive working environment and keeping everyone focused on successful delivery.
The business delivers a varied portfolio of commercial construction projects, with values generally ranging from approximately $500k to $18m across its established workload.

About You
We’re interested in speaking with Project Managers who have a solid background in commercial construction and enjoy being hands-on with project delivery.
You will ideally bring:
- Previous experience as a Project Manager with a commercial builder.
- Experience delivering projects from start to finish, including programme, subcontractor coordination, quality and safety.
- The ability to lead and coordinate site teams while maintaining strong relationships with clients and consultants.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to managing construction challenges.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to keep projects moving and stakeholders informed.
- A collaborative working style and the confidence to take ownership of project outcomes.
- The ability to work effectively with Contract Administrators and site teams, understanding the importance of clearly defined responsibilities.
- Relevant construction qualifications and experience appropriate to the level of the role.
