About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Pre-Contract Electrical Project Manager to join a Tier 1 EPC Contractor on one of Australia's most significant and high-profile defence infrastructure programs currently underway in Adelaide. This is a pre-contract focused role, requiring someone who can hit the ground running across tender, bid, and early contractor involvement activities on a major, long-term defence project. The role is immediately available and offers a competitive day rate for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities of the Pre-Contract Electrical PM
- Lead pre-contract electrical scope development including tender preparation, scope definition, and bid strategy.
- Review and interpret electrical specifications, drawings, and design documentation.
- Develop and manage electrical construction methodologies, execution plans, and programme inputs for tender submissions.
- Coordinate with estimating, commercial, and design teams to produce accurate and competitive bid deliverables.
- Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to develop electrical scope packages and obtain pricing.
- Identify and manage electrical scope risks during the pre-contract phase.
- Support value engineering and constructability reviews across the electrical scope.
- Liaise with the client and project leadership on electrical scope clarifications and technical submissions.
- Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager or Senior Electrical Engineer within a Tier 1 EPC or head contractor environment.
- Demonstrated pre-contract or tender phase experience on major infrastructure or defence projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical construction scope, sequencing, and subcontractor management.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Experience on defence, marine, or similarly complex and regulated project environments highly regarded.
- Commercially astute with strong bid and tender management capability.
- Immediately available or on a very short notice period.
- Adelaide based or willing to relocate for the duration of the contract.
- Ability to obtain NV1 clearance.
