We are looking for a capable and driven Client-Side Project Development Manager
to join a privately held development group delivering high-end residential, commercial ad industrial projects across Melbourne.
Our client focuses on quality over volume, working across projects typically ranging from $5M–$15M. With a strong pipeline of return business and a deliberate strategy to remain boutique in scale, the business takes a hands-on, design-conscious and delivery-focused approach to every development.
You’ll work closely with the Directors, taking on key responsibilities across project delivery and client-side management. This is a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully in a small, agile team where your impact will be immediate and valued.
About the business:
- The development team consists of two Directors and one accounts/admin manager
- A separate in-house construction arm operates with 20+ team members
- The office has plenty of basement parking- there is always room
- The culture is tight-knit, grounded and built on long-term relationships - no egos, just good people
- Manage project timelines, builder relationships, contract admin and financial tracking, some marketing
- Coordinate claims, invoicing, progress payments and documentation
- Conduct site visits (at least twice per week) and ensure delivery remains on program
- Support the senior development lead in overseeing consultants and key stakeholders
- Involved from feasibility through to handover, with exposure to the full lifecycle
- 5-7 years’ experience in property development or client-side project management
- Background in commercial, industrial or high-end residential projects preferred
- Proficient with Procore, Excel and confident reading and interpreting plans
- Skilled in contract admin, progress claims and site-based coordination
- Polished, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership
- Willing to grow into more senior roles
- Driven and dependable, with a strong work ethic and a practical mindset
- Able to wear a hard hat, walk a site, and communicate clearly across all levels
- $120K–$140K package, commensurate with experience
- Direct mentorship and daily interaction with senior leadership
- Opportunity to grow into more senior roles over time
- Optional co-investment in projects (typically $100K buy-in)
- Stable, well-funded pipeline with a long-term view - no overextension
- Inner city office with secure parking and reasonable hours (9:00am–5:30pm, minimal overtime)
- No work-from-home, but a balanced and flexible working environment
