A growing construction business is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of mid-sized to large Medium-Density and Commercial projects across Melbourne.
This role is suited to a commercially minded project leader who can balance program, cost, stakeholder management, and site delivery while maintaining strong financial and quality outcomes.
The Opportunity
You will take full ownership of projects from early planning through to completion, ensuring successful delivery across time, cost, safety, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing design coordination, approvals, procurement, and construction delivery
- Managing project budgets, forecasts, cost control, and contract variations
- Driving program performance and managing delivery risks
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory, contractual, and safety requirements
- Partnering closely with site teams to support buildability, quality, and sequencing
- Providing accurate project reporting across cost, program, risk, and performance
- Supporting and mentoring junior project staff
- Tertiary qualifications in Construction, Engineering or similar
- Minimum 5 years' experience managing commercial or medium-density construction projects (principal contractor)
- Strong financial and contract management capability
- Experience running projects from pre-construction through to handover
- Confidence in managing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
- High-level planning and scheduling capability using industry software
- Solid understanding of construction methodology, compliance, and documentation
- A proactive, solutions-focused leadership style
- Strong communication skills and commercial judgement
