The Opportunity
An opportunity exists for an experienced Project Manager to join a respected Sydney builder and take responsibility for the delivery of a $35M - $40M complex industrial facility.
Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will oversee all aspects of project delivery, including programming, procurement, commercial performance, stakeholder management and site operations.
This role will suit a capable Project Manager who enjoys taking ownership of significant construction projects and has the commercial and operational expertise to successfully lead a project from commencement through to completion.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Taking overall responsibility for project delivery from commencement through to completion
- Leading and managing the site, commercial and project delivery teams
- Developing and driving construction programs and key project milestones
- Managing project budgets, forecasting and overall commercial performance
- Overseeing procurement, subcontractor negotiations and contract administration
- Coordinating consultants, subcontractors and key project stakeholders
- Managing design coordination and resolving construction and buildability challenges
- Identifying project risks and implementing effective mitigation strategies
- Maintaining high standards of WHS, quality assurance and environmental compliance
- Managing client relationships and providing regular project reporting
- Driving productivity, performance and accountability across the project team
- Overseeing commissioning, practical completion, defects and final handover
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within the Australian construction industry
- Strong background delivering commercial, retail or large-format construction projects
- Demonstrated experience successfully managing projects of significant value and complexity
- Experience delivering projects valued at $30M+ highly regarded
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of contracts, procurement and cost management
- Excellent programming, planning and problem-solving capabilities
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams and manage subcontractors
- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Degree qualified in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline
- A proactive, hands-on leadership style with a strong focus on quality and delivery
- Salary up to $250,000 + Super, depending on experience
