to join their growing team and take the lead on technically complex, high-security facilities that have national significance.
This role is ideal for a registered architect
who enjoys working across all project stages, leading teams, and solving challenging design and documentation problems within strict compliance frameworks.
What You’ll Bring
- Registration: Current registration as an Architect in Australia (essential).
- Experience: Solid background in defence, government, or highly regulated projects preferred. Exposure to secure facility design and compliance processes is highly regarded.
- Technical Expertise: Strong Revit capability, advanced design and documentation skills, and a deep understanding of construction methods, building codes, and Australian standards.
- Leadership: Confidence leading a small team, delegating tasks, and mentoring junior architects and technicians.
- Project Management: Skilled at managing project delivery, monitoring progress, budgets, and milestones, and proactively resolving risks.
- Clear Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including client-facing experience.
- Eligibility for Security Clearance: NV1 or higher is highly desirable, or ability to obtain clearance.
- Lead Projects: Take ownership of defence-sector projects from briefing through to construction delivery.
- Coordinate Teams: Oversee internal resources, guide junior staff, and ensure smooth collaboration with consultants and clients.
- Deliver Documentation: Produce high-quality documentation and technical details across all stages, ensuring compliance with strict security and government requirements.
- Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders and represent the practice professionally.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all project work meets the highest quality and compliance standards, following practice policies and industry regulations.
