Position: Senior Electrical Engineer
Salary: 160-180k +

Design & Build have partnered with an established EPC business delivering major projects across power, renewables, and infrastructure.
You’ll take the technical lead on secondary systems for substation and transmission projects (132kV+), delivering protection and control designs from concept through to commissioning.
This is a hands-on role with a balance of technical design, client interaction, and project input, perfect if you enjoy both detail and big-picture work.

- Leading the preparation of protection and secondary systems design packages
- Developing and reviewing schematics, logic diagrams, and functional specs
- Coordinating with primary, civil, and drafting teams to ensure design alignment
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards, QA, and client expectations
- Supporting project delivery from early design through testing and commissioning
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders, OEMs, and utilities as needed
- Proven experience in secondary systems design for HV & EHV Substations
- Expertise in protection relays, control systems, and SCADA
- Strong working knowledge of AS/NZS 61850 and relevant HV standards
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering
- CPEng (or working towards) and EA membership preferred
- Strong communication and documentation skills
