This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator ready to step into a Senior role, or an established Senior Estimator looking for their next career move.
Working from centrally located Perth offices, you’ll be part of an experienced estimating team delivering a diverse portfolio of projects across commercial, defence, industrial and health sectors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare accurate and competitive tender submissions from initial review through to final submission.
- Review drawings, specifications, contracts and project documentation to identify scope, risks and opportunities.
- Measure and price works from drawings, specifications and bills of quantities, including first-principles estimating.
- Develop detailed trade scopes and tender packages for subcontractors and suppliers.
- Manage subcontractor and supplier tendering, including reviewing, analysing and benchmarking quotations.
- Prepare and review cost plans throughout the design and tender process.
- Identify project risks, opportunities, exclusions and potential additional costs.
- Review designs and resolve discrepancies, scope gaps and ambiguities.
- Work with Bid Managers, design teams and project teams to develop practical and cost-effective construction solutions.
- Provide input into tender programs, construction methodologies and sequencing
- Manage multiple tenders simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
To be successful, you will ideally have:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a building Estimator role.
- Demonstrated experience pricing commercial building projects with associated civil works.
- Proven experience pricing projects for Local Government and Defence clients valued at $50M+.
- Previous experience working for a Tier 1, Tier 2 with a head contractor.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a similar discipline.
- Strong understanding of construction materials, methodologies and sequencing.
- The ability to identify and assess project risks and opportunities.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple tenders and competing deadlines.
- Proficiency in CostX estimating software is desirable.
- Strong Microsoft Excel, Word and Office skills.
- Knowledge of project programming and tender processes.
- Current driver's licence and nationally recognised construction induction certification.
