A highly regarded and well-established Tier 1 commercial construction company is continuing to grow its estimating team across Sydney. With over 30 years of experience, the business has built an excellent reputation for delivering complex construction, refurbishment, redevelopment, and fit-out projects across education, healthcare, commercial, government, aviation, and specialist sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the end-to-end estimating and tendering process across commercial construction projects.
- Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications, and project scopes in detail.
- Prepare accurate cost plans, take-offs, BOQs, subcontractor comparisons, and tender submissions.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractor and supplier pricing to ensure competitive and accurate bids.
- Identify project risks, value engineering opportunities, and alternative construction methodologies.
- Work closely with Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Contracts Administrators, and Directors throughout the pre-construction and tendering process.
- Attend tender meetings, site inspections, client briefings, and project meetings where required.
- Prepare detailed tender clarifications, scope reviews, and post-tender negotiations.
- Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and key industry stakeholders.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, procurement strategies, and pipeline planning.
- 5+ years' experience across commercial construction, refurbishment, fit-out, education, healthcare, medical, civil, or structural projects will be considered.
- Fit-out and refurbishment experience is advantageous but not essential, provided you have strong experience.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, buildability, cost planning, and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of the Sydney subcontractor and supplier market, with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Highly organised with strong commercial acumen and the ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously.
- Confident using estimating software, with experience using Cubit and/or EstimateOne highly regarded.
- Salary: Up to $200k + Super (Depending on experience
