About the Role
Reporting to the Estimating and Procurement Manager, you'll be responsible for preparing accurate production estimates from approved construction documentation, ensuring jobs are ready for construction on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate production estimates for residential construction projects.
- Interpret architectural drawings, engineering plans and specifications.
- Produce Bills of Quantities (BOQs), purchase orders and trade breakups.
- Review documentation to identify discrepancies and resolve issues prior to construction.
- Cost client variations and ensure all changes are accurately documented.
- Liaise with drafting, construction, procurement and suppliers throughout the estimating process.
- Maintain pricing databases and supplier information.
- Ensure estimating documentation is completed accurately and within required timeframes.
- Assist with process improvements to enhance estimating efficiency and accuracy.
- Previous experience as an Estimator within the residential building industry.
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods and documentation.
- Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Experience preparing BOQs, purchase orders and production estimates.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Experience using Databuild or similar estimating software is highly regarded.
