Our client is a well-established and highly regarded construction company with a strong reputation for delivering complex, high-value projects across Victoria. With a healthy pipeline of secured work and an ambitious growth trajectory, they are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their pre-construction team and play a key role in shaping the company's continued success.
About the Role
This is a senior position reporting directly to senior leadership. You'll take ownership of the estimating process from feasibility through to tender submission on significant projects, working closely with business development, design, and construction teams to secure and set up work for successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead estimating and tendering for major projects from concept through to contract award
- Prepare detailed, accurate cost plans, quantity take-offs, and tender documentation
- Source and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing
- Analyse tender documents, specifications, and drawings to identify risks and opportunities
- Develop and present value engineering options to clients and internal stakeholders
- Mentor and support junior estimators within the team
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
- Contribute to the company's strategic growth and business development efforts
- Extensive experience as an Estimator within the construction industry, ideally with recent experience at Senior or Lead level
- Proven track record estimating projects in the $20M–$150M+ range (adjust to suit)
- Strong technical knowledge of construction methodology, materials, and costing
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g. Cubit, Buildsoft, or similar)
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or similar (highly regarded but not essential with strong industry experience)
- A collaborative, commercially astute, and detail-oriented approach
- Salary package up to $250,000+ Superannuation, commensurate with experience
