The Role:
- Act as the sole HSE representative on site, supported by a national team
- Report to the Construction Manager (site) and senior leadership
- Lead all site safety initiatives across a major commercial project
- Conduct audits, inspections, and ensure compliance with HSE standards
- Manage stakeholder relationships, including client-facing responsibilities
- Drive a high-performance safety culture and ensure work is delivered to a high standard
- Confidently handle difficult conversations and enforce compliance when required
- 10+ years’ HSE experience in defence construction
- Strong background working on $40M+ projects
- Minimum Cert IV in WHS (or equivalent)
- Defence project experience highly desirable
- Proven ability to operate autonomously on site
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and challenge when needed
- Resilient, confident, and capable of managing demanding environments
- A seasoned HSE professional with a “no-nonsense” approach
- Someone who can represent the business professionally while holding firm on standards
- A proactive, tough-minded individual who can take full ownership of site safety
