We are seeking a Safety Officer to join a major construction project team, supporting the delivery of strong safety performance across site operations. This role focuses on driving a Safety-First culture, ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, and supporting safe systems of work across high-risk construction activities.
About the Role
You will be responsible for supporting site-based safety activities across designated areas, ensuring safe systems of work are in place and followed. You’ll work closely with site teams and contractors to maintain compliance and continuously improve safety outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and embed a strong Safety-First culture on site
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, policies, and project systems
- Conduct inspections, audits, hazard identification, and SWMS reviews
- Support risk assessments, incident investigations, and contractor compliance
- Influence site teams and identify training needs to improve safety outcomes
- WHS qualification or relevant Construction Management qualifications
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation, codes, and standards
- Experience in construction site-based safety roles
- Experience supporting or leading incident investigations (ICAM desirable)
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skillsAbility to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced site environment
