What your day looks like:
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for HVAC systems in construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Develop competitive bid proposals, ensuring compliance with project specifications, timelines, and budgetary requirements.
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and other documents to determine project scope and requirements.
- Obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, negotiating pricing to ensure cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality standards.
- Identify potential project risks and incorporate contingencies into estimates to account for variables or unforeseen challenges.
- 8+ years HVAC construction estimating experience, ideally in the Tier 1/Tier 2 space.
- Experience tendering for HVAC construction projects from $10m & above.
- HVAC trade or mechanical engineering background.
- Strong network with builders/developers and HVAC suppliers & subbies.
- Must have great communication skills - be someone who's not just there to crunch numbers. Must have the ability to interpret a spec and be articulate.
- A detail-oriented HVAC Estimator with the expertise to deliver accurate, thorough estimates independently.
