Senior Project Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer  to join a dynamic team and contribute to the successful delivery of large-scale Multi-residential developments in Canberra. This role offers the opportunity to be directly involved in shaping some of the city’s most exciting projects.

Key Accountabilities

You will be responsible for managing various stages of project delivery, establishing and maintaining procedures for cost control, procurement, design resolution, and coordination of trades across our developments.

Responsibilities

• Working with the Project Manager you will be responsible for managing your own trade packages
• Attend regular site meetings with Designers/consultants and subcontractors
• Complete tenders from design resolution right through to award and implementation of the selected subcontractor on site
• Understand the site rules and emergency procedures
• Monitor, review & report periodically on the progressive performance of subcontractors against the scope, program and budget
• Support the Project Manager and other employees on the project in undertaking their responsibilities
• Highlight any issues that would have significant implication on time, cost and safety

• Tertiary qualification in Building and Construction (or similar)
• 5–7 years’ experience in a comparable role within the construction industry
• Proven ability to manage external consultants and subcontractors effectively
• Strong track record of building and maintaining positive working relationships
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Team-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities
