We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Site Engineer to join a high-performing project team delivering a large-scale commercial fit-out in Canberra. This is an opportunity to be part of a complex, fast-paced project with a reputable builder known for delivering high-quality outcomes.
The Role
Reporting to the Project Manager and Senior Engineer, you will play a key role in coordinating on-site engineering activities and ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day site engineering activities across trades and subcontractors
- Interpret and manage drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Assist with programming, sequencing, and short-term planning
- Conduct site inspections and ensure works comply with design and quality standards
- Manage RFIs, shop drawings, and procurement tracking
- Monitor project progress and contribute to reporting requirements
- Support HSE initiatives and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
- Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar
- 2–5 years’ experience in a Site Engineer role, ideally within commercial fit-out or building projects
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- High attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment
