About the Role
- Take overall accountability for the on-site delivery of a multi-unit residential project.
- Manage all on-site operations including coordination of subcontractors/trades, scheduling, materials, quality control and site logistics.
- Lead and supervise site staff, subcontractors, and trades to ensure efficient progress and compliance with all relevant standards.
- Monitor and enforce health, safety, environmental and site regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and interpret construction drawings and plans — ensuring works are completed to specification and quality expectations.
- Conduct regular inspections, quality assurance, and defect management.
- Maintain site documentation: site diaries, progress reports, safety records/inspections, and manage reporting to management or project stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience as a Site Manager or senior on-site role in multi-residential or apartment projects (or substantial commercial/residential developments).
- Strong construction knowledge: building processes, materials, construction methods as well as reading and interpreting architectural/engineering plans.
- Solid experience managing subcontractors/trades, site labour, contractors and overall site coordination.
- Thorough understanding and practical experience of OH&S practices, site safety management and compliance requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and ability to maintain high standards of workmanship.
- Flexibility: willingness to base yourself in Geelong for the duration of the initial assignment for approx 6-8 months).
